Granville Tatham

Granville

Granville was born in 1929. He left school at the age of 14 and started working as an errand boy. He rose to be the branch manager within 7 years. During this time Granville did his national services in the medical regiment for 2 years and then he went back to the food trade.


At the age of 23 Granville got married and he and his wife had 3 boys of their own, who in turn married and produced 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls.


Granville also became a salesman with Brook Bond tea at the age of 23 starting at the bottom again and rising to sales manager in South Wales and parts of England.


Granville has worked in 30 counties in England, he worked in Northern Ireland and finished up in Wales. He also stood as a councillor and served over 17 years, finishing as Deputy Lord Mayor for the city of Cardiff.


Granville joined Mirus in 1979 and served 6 years as chairman and the rest of his time as a valued trustee. He joined OHT’s Board after assisting with the setting up of the charity whilst on the Social Services Committee.


Granville is also member of a number of other organisations which keeps him very busy.
